SUICT Lecturer Yevhen Pedchenko participated as a speaker at an International Cybersecurity Conference in Baku

Lecturer of the Department of Systems and Technologies of Cybersecurity at the Educational-Scientific Institute of Cyber Security and Information Protection of the State University of Information and Communication Technologies (SUICT), Yevhen Pedchenko, participated as a speaker at the international conference Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge – CIDC-2025.
The event took place on October 9–10, 2025, in Baku (Republic of Azerbaijan).

The conference was organized by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the support of leading government agencies, technology companies, and international partners in the field of cybersecurity.

About the Conference

CIDC-2025 is one of the key regional events in cybersecurity, dedicated to the protection of critical infrastructure, cyber risk management, and the development of digital resilience.
The program included plenary sessions, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and cyber defense competitions among teams representing public and private sector organizations.

The event was held at the Baku Convention Center, one of Azerbaijan’s most modern venues, gathering more than two thousand participants from various countries.

Presentation by the SUICT Representative

During his presentation, Yevhen Pedchenko delivered a talk titled “Next-Gen Cyber Shield: AI-Powered Defense & Adaptive Security with Akamai”, focusing on the implementation of modern approaches to web application and network infrastructure protection through artificial intelligence and adaptive incident response mechanisms, aimed at strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure.

He also presented Akamai’s practical cybersecurity solutions and shared insights from the cooperation between Seeton Group LLC and SUICT in combating modern cyber threats.

The participation of SUICT’s lecturer in CIDC-2025 contributed to:

  • expanding international cooperation of the university in the field of cybersecurity;
  • exchanging expertise with leading global professionals;
  • enhancing the professional development of the teaching staff;
  • promoting SUICT’s scientific and practical achievements on the international stage.

Background

The Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge – CIDC-2025 covered the following key areas of modern cybersecurity:

  • network, cloud, and data protection;
  • incident response and threat analytics;
  • ethical hacking and penetration testing;
  • IoT and operational technology (OT) security;
  • educational initiatives and professional certification.

SUICT will continue to strengthen its international partnerships in the field of cybersecurity, actively representing Ukrainian experts on global scientific and professional platforms.
