Knowledge Day Celebrated at SUICT

12:48, 01-09-2025

On September 1, the State University of Information and Communication Technologies (SUICT) held a festive ceremony to mark Knowledge Day and welcome its first-year students into the SUICT academic community.

In his opening address, Rector Volodymyr Shulha warmly greeted first-year students, their parents, faculty, and partners:

“I am pleased to note that this year more than a thousand students chose our university, successfully passed the National Multi-Subject Test, and overcame all the challenges of the admission campaign. Becoming a student of the State University of Information and Communication Technologies is truly a milestone—an opportunity to join a large academic family and to carry forward our strong academic traditions. You have every reason to be proud, as SUICT is a brand recognized and highly valued in the IT industry.”

Distinguished guests and partners also extended their congratulations, including Maria Aleksandrova, Assistant to the Head of the Solomianskyi District Administration in Kyiv; Professor Oleg Kopiika, Chair of the Supervisory Board of SUICT; representatives of Huawei Ukraine led by Deputy Director Roman Zorin; Yuliia Tur, Head of Retail Business at Sense Bank; and Associate Professor Serhii Korotkov from the Department of Computer Engineering.

The student community was represented by Hlib Osmakov, Deputy Head of the Student Council, while first-year student Maria Sipaylova, specializing in Cybersecurity and Information Protection, delivered the official Student Oath.

A solemn moment of the event was the laying of flowers at the memorial plaque honoring SUICT students and alumni who gave their lives for Ukraine, followed by a minute of silence.

The festive atmosphere was enriched by musical performances from Nataliia Monich, Honored Educator of Ukraine and Artistic Director of SUICT’s Department of Culture and Arts, along with talented students Maksym Karpenko, Volodymyr Malivanchenko, Danylo Hushchyn, Anton Symonenko, and Denys Ashmiantsev.

Knowledge Day at SUICT became a meaningful start to the academic year, symbolizing both the beginning of a professional journey for new students and the university’s enduring role as a place of learning, tradition, and inspiration for Ukrainian youth.
