As part of an official visit to Ternopil, the delegation of the State University of Information and Communication Technologies (SUICT) signed a Cooperation Agreement with West Ukrainian National University (WUNU).

The agreement was formalized by SUICT Rector, Dr. Volodymyr Shulha, and WUNU Rector, Dr. Oksana Desyatniuk. The primary objective of the agreement is to foster effective collaboration in scientific research, innovation, academic mobility, and educational development.

The SUICT delegation included the following representatives:

• Dr. Volodymyr Shulha – Rector, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Senior Researcher
• Dr. Maryna Petchenko – Vice-rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Social Development, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor
• Dr. Serhii Kondratiuk – Assistant to the Rector, Professor of Public Management and Administration, PhD in Political Science

WUNU was represented by:

• Dr. Mykola Dyvak – Vice-Rector for Scientific Research
• Dr. Ihor Yakymenko – Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computer Information Technologies, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor
• Dr. Vasyl Yatskiv – Head of the Department of Cyber Security, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor

The signed agreement outlines engagement in joint research and innovation initiatives within the fields of information security and computer science, as well as collaborative research activities in software engineering, digital transformation, database design and administration, and intelligent automated systems.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to conduct joint scientific and educational events, facilitate the exchange of information, best practices, and academic resources, promote academic mobility for faculty and students, and co-author scientific, educational, and methodological publications.

“The signing of this agreement represents a significant step toward strengthening institutional cooperation between two leading Ukrainian universities and will contribute meaningfully to the advancement of research and education in the domain of information technology,” emphasized Dr. Volodymyr Shulha, Rector of SUICT.

Background:

SUICT once again served as a co-organizer of the International Scientific and Technical Conference “ITSec-2025,” held at WUNU, where the university’s delegation played an active role.

It is also worth noting that the student governments of both institutions have already initiated the first steps toward establishing communication and implementing joint projects that will serve as important drivers of youth-led scientific and educational diplomacy.
