As part of national patriotic education and with the goal of equipping students with vital emergency response skills, the State University of Information and Communication Technologies (SUICT) hosted a first aid training conducted by the National Guard of Ukraine under the motto “Make the Day Count.”
The event was officially opened by Maryna Petchenko, Vice-Rector for Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work and Social Development. Officers from the Civil-Military Cooperation Division of the Information and Publishing Center of the National Guard of Ukraine welcomed the students and offered motivational words, supporting the implementation of this important initiative.
The training was led by Oleksandr KORNIICHUK – a certified first aid instructor, combat medic of the National Guard of Ukraine, and a member of both the World Reanimation Council and the American Heart Association.
This session was more than just a learning experience – it was a meaningful step towards fostering civic responsibility and readiness to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Students from various institutes across SUICT took part in the training, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in key areas of pre-medical care, including:
Under Oleksandr KORNIICHUK’s supervision, students practiced on specialized training mannequins, asked questions, and discussed realistic scenarios.
“We don’t just study for a diploma – we study to live and to save lives. Today, this knowledge is more essential than ever for every Ukrainian,” said participants after the session.
