Anna Kolisnychenko, head of English Department at DUICT, and associate professor of English Department, Svitlana Kharytska, took part in the patriotic and educational event “Evening of author’s poetry on the military theme “There is no time for defeat!”, which took place at the National Aviation University with the participation of representatives of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management, the State University of Information and Communication Technologies and the National Transport University.

Students and teachers recited poems that appeared or received a second life after the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine. All the time, Ukrainian artists capture the war in their work. When the invasion began on February 24, 2022, war was (and still is) in the air, everywhere, in every part of the country; everything was filled with it – thoughts, conversations, news, actions. Words formed lines, and lines turned into poems. Sincere, painful, but necessary to describe the unbearable pain of losses and the joy of victories. It was emphasized that a separate layer is occupied by military songs, which were also performed at the evening of poetry performed by students of the military department of NAU.

S. Kharytska introduced the poetry of the young Ukrainian poetess Anastasia Dmytruk.
