During an official visit to the Republic of Poland, a delegation from the State University of Information and Communication Technologies (SUICT), led by Rector Volodymyr Shulha, visited the University of the National Education Commission, Krakow (UKEN).
The visit marked a continuation of the dialogue initiated during the first meeting between the leadership of SUICT and UKEN in March 2025, when SUICT representatives first traveled to Kraków.
At the meeting with the SUICT delegation, the Polish side was represented by:
The highlight of the visit was the ceremonial signing of a cooperation agreement between the two institutions, formalized by Rector Volodymyr Shulha and Rector Piotr Borek. The agreement outlines the implementation of joint academic and research projects, the organization of conferences, and the development of academic mobility programs for both students and faculty.
A key outcome of the visit was the discussion of the first joint initiative — the organization of a high-profile international scientific and practical conference on cybersecurity under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), of which SUICT is a member.
At SUICT’s initiative, and in light of the current security situation in Ukraine, both parties agreed to hold the conference at UKEN. They also reached an agreement on the preparation and organizational aspects of the event, which is scheduled to take place in October 2025.
Rector Shulha informed the Polish partners about the establishment of a dedicated organizing committee at SUICT responsible for coordinating the conference.
To further strengthen bilateral cooperation, SUICT (as a representative of a NATO partner country) and UKEN (as a representative of a NATO member state) jointly submitted a research proposal in the field of cybersecurity within the framework of the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
"Our cooperation with UKEN is a meaningful step toward advancing international academic mobility and reinforcing SUICT’s role as a leading Ukrainian institution in the fields of digital technologies and cybersecurity," noted Rector Volodymyr Shulha.
